We are pleased to present our March program: “Bias and the American Judicial System: Is the Jury System Broken?” The program will be presented by James B. Lees. Jim is a Wake Forest Law School graduate (JD ’77). He attended West Virginia University for undergraduate school where he was a varsity member of the basketball team. Jim is a partner at Hunt & Lees, LC located in Charleston, WV and is a trial attorney who litigates major injury cases throughout the United States. In addition, Jim is a litigation consultant who helps attorneys nationally prepare winning litigation strategies through the use of focus groups. Jim has now tried over 300 jury trials to verdict and will use his experience as a trial lawyer and conductor of over 1200 focus groups all over America to address the subject of jury bias and how we, as lawyers and judges, must address it in seating juries.
