"Leadership and Character in the Law"

Kenneth Townsend will present our March program “Leadership and Character in the Law.” Professor Kenneth Townsend is Scholar-in-Residence in the School of Law and Director of Leadership and Character in the Professional Schools at Wake Forest. In the March 16 Inn of Court program, Kenneth Townsend will consider the questions below and other questions while providing an overview of recent collaborations between the Program for Leadership and Character and the School of Law.

· What does it mean to be a leader? Can leadership be taught?

· What does it mean to have good character? Can character be improved?

· How should one’s personal values shape one’s professional aspirations?

· What challenges do lawyers face when aiming to lead with integrity?

· How can students and lawyers identify, and make use of, ethical role models early in their careers?

· How should lawyers balance conflicting obligations to clients, self, and community?
