This is my fifth year as a McNiel Mustangs' teacher. I've taught for 24 years. Most of it was in Denton ISD, but I started teaching right here in Wichita Falls. After graduating from Midwestern State University, I taught for 6 years at West Foundation Elementary. I taught in general, public education for 15 years, teaching youth and adults art out of my home studio in my spare time. Art, creativity, and sharing art with others, has always been my important to me. I had an amazing art teachers like Mr. Dinger of Hubbard Middle School and Ms. Lilienstern at Tyler Lee High School.

I love pottery!
My personal art is rather eclectic mainly because I love to experiment. Trying new things (and just seeing if I can do it) has always been my thing. I try a lot of the techniques of the past and have recently become interested in art history. I'm a constant learner and never tell myself, "I can't." I may not do it as well as others, but I will always put my own spin on a project. Pottery is probably my greatest love in art because it is a challenge. If you think you've done everything right, the kiln will do it's own thing no matter what your plans. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes not so good. Otherwise, photography, drawing and watercolor take up the majority of my art time. I am taking online courses through Academy of Art University of San Francisco, getting my Master of Fine Arts degree. My focus is painting.

Below are examples that I created for 2022-23 classes. There are also some that I have shared with my students from my personal portfolio. I enjoy doing the projects alongside my students. I usually try to stay a step ahead so the students can see where the projects are going.
