It is called cotton ball night, based on Vincent van Gogh's, The Starry Night. The main focus is the sky which is made up of a navy blue shirt, two light blue pillow cases, and cotton balls placed all about to imitate stars. I like this piece because it was done by me and starry night is one of my favorites...so...
This painting is by Margaret Keane. It was painted around the 1960s. I picked it because I thought it was cute and I have a cute dog too.
The original painting is Whistler's Mother by James Whistler painted in 1871.
I chose this painting because the man in the painting feels like, what we are feeling like now. I put my Chromebook in front of my face, and put a piece of paper written SCHOOL@HOME because we have simply a feeling of nothingness.
Frida Kahlo was a famous Mexican artist. She painted mostly self portraits after being in an accident. She really never painted herself with a smile. I think she was sad in her life because of her accident and things that happened in her life. She says “I paint self-portraits because I am so often alone, because I am the person I know best”. I would rename this “Never Alone”. I read that she met Pablo Picasso, so I would ask her about him. I see a sad but strong lady in this picture. My mom is my recreation. My mom is the strongest lady I know. I wouldn’t hang this in my room. My mom has a friend who is a graffiti artist in Lubbock and he has recreated this painting and I really like it.
This painting was probably created because Grant Wood painted it as a reassurance of the Great Depression. I chose this painting because I liked how it was and I kinda felt it. I feel that those people are stuck away from the world which is how I feel right now.
I chose The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali. I chose this because I thought it would be funny to make an art project out of a sandwich made with meat and cheese.
The Scream by Edvard Munch
I think he was having a panic attack or anxiety. If you could rename this piece I would it Panic. Beyond the frame, people are running to help him. If I could I would ask him if he needs help. I do not really connect to this piece except that it reminds me of the movie Scream. I wouldn't hang it in my room because it would be too scary to wake up to.
I did the Mona Lisa by Leonardo de Vinci because I always thought it was cool.
The Mona Lisa can be seen at the Louvre in Paris, France.
The Mona Lisa was painted between 1506 and 1517. Leonardo said that he never really finished it.
