The famous painting I chose is called Hand of God by Michaelangelo. It was painted in the 1500's and is part of the Sistine Chapel. I chose this because it's a simple look with a deep meaning.
This painting reminds me of the thinking man. It is Paul Revere by John Copley painted in 1768.
It was a painting by Grant Wood called American Gothic. It is a man standing next to his sister. It shows how they live. It doesn’t make me feel anyway. I do not get the art. A fork? It is weird.
by Grant Wood, 1930
This is a painting by Rene Magritte called The Son of Man created in 1946. I picked the son of a man because I was looking through most of the famous paintings and I just didn’t really have the items that I was looking at in the paintings. Then I came across this painting and asked my mom if she still had her grandma’s trench coat from 50 years ago and she said yes. And I was relieved that we finally found one that I would be able to do. So I looked around my house and in this case, I also looked outside, for some objects that would fit for the painting. I found all the objects and stood infront of the painting of a wave on my wall to look like the same background as the son of a man and did my best to imitate it.
This is a painting by Paul Klee called Red Balloon painted in 1922. I like this piece of art. It’s pretty cool. I don’t know the meaning of it though so I wouldn’t hang it up in my room. This painting reminds me of Pennywise! He’s known for his red balloon and when I saw the painting that was the first thing I thought of. I would’ve probably named this painting,”Big Red Ball” since I didn’t see the string on the balloon at first.
This piece of painting reminds me of Lunar New Year when people get out the sky lanterns let them out at night. It is Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh.
