History at Westminster Academy is ambitious, challenging and engaging. It is designed to provide students with broad and detailed knowledge of different time periods, places and people and to develop subject-specific skills and ways of thinking. In addition, we believe the history of one country cannot be studied in a vacuum, and in order for us to understand modern-day Britain, as well as British history, we must also study the wider world and explore a diverse range of cultures and histories.
In History, we follow the AQA GCSE History specification and IB programme for Sixth Form.
Here you will find more information about what you learn about in Year 7, 8 and 9. Above is an image of Claudia Jones who students learn about in Year 8.
