Computing

Welcome to the Computing information page!

Computing is a modern, fascinating subject.

The world depends on computers. The vast majority of us use computers in our day-to-day lives for everything from gaming and communicating by email or on social media to finding information, paying our bills and shopping on line.

Computing is here to give you more advanced skills so you can make computers work for you. It also teaches you about the ever-changing risks of using the internet, so you can keep your personal information safe and avoid security risks, and reduce the impact of online bullying.

It gives you the skills you can apply to your other subjects and in your career, and opens the doorway to new and emerging career paths. In the computing department we want to make sure you have the digital skills employers look for today.

Computing is a great subject ...

... but combined with other subjects it can open up a whole world of opportunities.

In Computing, we follow the National Curriculum in KS3 combining Computer Science with Information Technology and Digital Literacy.

We offer two options in KS4: OCR Computer Science and BTEC Digital Information Technology.
