March 1st
Advisory
This week we caught up with how everyone's break was! Some popular things students did was sleep in, spend time with family, and relaxed!
On Tuesday one of our school counselors, Mrs. Krivoy, came to teach a lesson on healthy relationships. In the lesson, she taught students about different communication styles (passive, passive aggressive, assertive, aggressive) and had students reflect on what their style is. She also discussed how knowing what communication style we have will help us build relationships with others.
Odds and Ends
NEXT WEEK is K-8 Conference Week! It will be early dismissal Monday-Friday. Please see the schedule below as a reminder for your date/time.

Pedestrian Safety Campaign Launch:
From March 4th-8th, we're launching a Pedestrian Safety Campaign! Look for safety pledge forms in your child's backpack for both you and your students to sign and return. We will also have class and grade level competitions where students will receive tickets as rewards when observed using crosswalks, participating in the walking school bus, or safely entering and exiting cars. These tickets contribute to exciting competitions for classroom and grade level prizes. Let's prioritize safety and make pedestrian awareness a fun and rewarding experience for all! We need your help to make this a success. CLICK HERE to sign up to help.
Dress Code:
Westlake Charter School is a uniform school. Please help your student(s) prepare for a successful school day by making sure they are in uniform and following the dress code every day. One of the biggest challenges we are trying to overcome is crocs! Students who wear crocs to PE will be sent to the office where they can call home for a change of shoes.
Middle School students have lockers for PE clothes and shoes so if they choose to leave athletic shoes at school they are safe. Students who are routinely out of uniform/dress code will be assigned Friday lunch detention as a consequence. CLICK HERE to view our dress code at a glance.
Missoula Children’s Theater Company:
On Monday, March 4th at 1:45 PM, all K-8 students are welcome to audition for Missoula Theater Company's production of Peter & Wendy. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be in a professional show. CLICK HERE for details. CLICK HERE to RSVP to audition.
