It's wild to think that trimester 2 is almost over! This week in Advisory we reflected on our social-emotional learning in trimester 2. Students then wrote their comments on how they think they did with self awareness, social awareness, positive decision making, and digital citizenship.

Odds and Ends

K-8 Conference Week:

• Trimester 2 Conference week is March 4th - March 8th. All week is early dismissal. The online scheduler is available to families starting on Monday, February 12th. CLICK HERE for instructions on how to use the online scheduler. Our conferences are student-led so please select a time where your child is also able to attend.

K-12 Talent Show:

You are invited!  Join us in the K-8 gymnasium on Friday, February 16th @ 6:00 PM for our K-12 Talent Show! Come show your WCS spirit by supporting our performers! Don’t miss this year’s staff dance!  The event is free.

Yearbook Cover Contest Winners:

Congratulations to the winners of our K-8 Yearbook Cover Contest, Malika Patel & Taylor Torres! Runner up goes to Yshawn Chong! We can’t wait to see the 2023-24 Yearbook Cover debut at the end of the school year!

Dress Code: 

Westlake Charter School is a uniform school. Please help your student(s) prepare for a successful school day by making sure they are in uniform and following the dress code every day. One of the biggest challenges we are trying to overcome is crocs! While they are cute, they are not appropriate for PE. Students who wear crocs to PE will be sent to the office where they can call home for a change of shoes. Students have lockers for PE clothes and shoes so if they choose to leave athletic shoes at school they are safe. Students who are routinely out of uniform/dress code will be assigned Friday lunch detention as a consequence.  CLICK HERE to view our dress code at a glance.

Pedestrian Safety Campaign Launch:

Mark your calendars! From February 26th-March 8th, WCS will be launching a Pedestrian Safety Campaign based on data collected in the neighborhood  that was analyzed by our amazing parent and community partnerships. We need adult volunteers to help at arrival and dismissal during the week of March 4th-March 8th. Missoula Children’s Theater Company:

JIBE Bike Camp Opportunity for 6th and 7th Graders:

Sixth & seventh grade students have the opportunity to participate in the Jibe Bike Camp in June 2024.  The application period opens on February 15th @ 5:00 PM.  For more details, visit jibe.org/bikecamp.
