AM snack Rotation:
This year we will have 1 to 2 shared snacks per month. Please send in snacks that are pre packaged for easy distribution. We currently have 11 students in class. I do try and schedule 1 snack near your child’s birthday. Please remember that we are not allowed to have birthday cupcakes. In the past, families have sent in birthday cake flavored granola bars, or birthday cake flavored muffins. As always if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. ** We have peanut, tree nut, sesame, and egg allergies in our class.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We want to inform you that there are students in your child’s class with serious food allergies to peanuts,tree nuts, sesame and eggs. These allergies can be life-threatening, and exposure can occur not only through ingestion but also through contact with surfaces, airborne particles, or food residue.
To help ensure a safe environment for all students:
● Students are not permitted to share food at school.
● We ask that you avoid sending foods that contain these allergens whenever possible,
especially for snacks in the classroom.
● Please be aware that products like hummus, nut butters and nut-containing granola bars can leave behind residue that can pose risks to allergic students.While managing food allergies can be challenging, it also provides an opportunity for our classroom community to learn empathy, responsibility, and kindness. We encourage you to speak with your child about:
● The importance of not sharing food
● Washing hands after eating
● Being respectful and supportive of classmates with allergies
Please note: Foods containing these allergens are not strictly prohibited from being packed in your child’s snack. However, we appreciate your thoughtfulness in choosing allergy-friendly alternatives when possible. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping all of our students safe and healthy.
