Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS)

⚠️ All employees are required to register their ASRS account with WESD, regardless if you have worked for a ASRS employer before.  

There are a few who are exempt from this requirement: 

1. If you are already retired with ASRS, you would instead need to log into your account and fill out a Return To Work Form.  Instructions located here

2. If you are exempt from ASRS contributions due to your employment visa.  

3. If you are over the age of 65 and never had an account with ASRS before, you can request an "65+ Membership Waiver form" from HR.  This must be done within 30 days of employment and would make you exempt from ASRS registration and contribution.   

4. If you were in an ASRS contributing position prior to your new position with no break in service.
