Just as the lockdown for COVID-19 finished, I started going outside and taking pictures of anything that I thought looked really pretty. I started off by taking pictures of the sunset and the sky and slowly changed my subject to animals. Over the course of a few months, I found that I really enjoyed taking photographs and continued to take more. Although I struggled at first, especially when it came to taking pictures of animals because of their movement, I learned how to set up my camera at the right settings and take a picture at the perfect moment.

Taking Pictures for Sport Events at Wells

This was my first time taking pictures of sports players since I joined the photography club this year, so I struggled a bit with taking pictures as they were moving so much. Overall, I think this experience was something new as I learned how to take better pictures the next time I offered to take pictures for sports.

SerVICE Conference

This was my first time going for a ServICE conference, and it's fair to say, I enjoyed myself. Not only did I make new friends, but I also learned a lot about global issues that are present in today's world. As I attended this conference, I learned about new organizations and with this information, I found ways to host some workshops in Wells itself related to those organizations.

Learning how to Photoshop

Learning how to photoshop has always been fascinating to me as I always wondered how people photoshop themselves into different places. I always thought that photoshopping required a high skill level and expensive software, however all it took was a little patience and editing skills. I first started editing the picture to match the lighting of the background and then cropped it out. I asked my friends to model for me, and I am quite satisfied with the results, however, there is always room to grow and improve.

Leading a How-To at the SerVICE conference

ASL for ServICE Conference 2022

This was my first time hosting a workshop, and I was quite nervous at first. We hosted the workshop for the ServICE how to session and in this session we first presented about our simulation. Later, we had an activity prepared where the participants needed to draw an object while one person is blindfolded, has their hands tied, cannot speak and the other cannot hear. The participants really enjoyed this game and my teammates and I enjoyed meeting new people.

Voluntering to Judge the Math Competition

Judging the math competition was quite interesting, as we could walk around and watch how the students and teachers were trying to answer all the questions while they were concentrating. I would definitely like to do this again.

This was the second math competition I have participated in and overall, I think it went well. Although we decided last minute that we wanted to join, we learned new skills too.

Trying to make Tanghulu

This was the first time trying to make Tanghulu, and it was a success. My friends and I enjoyed making this as we bonded and learned a new skill too! Although we faced some issues like we weren't sure about how long it would take to make it, but in the end, it all worked out.
