• Investigation

The class of 2019 was in charge of organizing the 2018 prom. Before distributing the work, all of the classmates were told to choose a group to be in. I chose to be part of the hotel group in which the role was to pick potential hotels that could be the location for the prom and to communicate with the hotel about the details. The reason why I picked to be in this group was because I can speak both Thai and English which would help make the communication process easier. Moreover, my ideal future job is a job that requires a lot of communication therefore I would like to get experience and learn from this project.

• Preparation

As I was part of the hotel group, my role was to first research for hotels that would fit the senior's requirements about the ideal prom. After gathering potential hotels, my next job was to email the hotels and schedule appointments to go look at the rooms.

• Action

I emailed a lot of hotels and went on a hotel tour. After going on a hotel tour, my group members and I picked out the best three hotels. We created a presentation and presented to the seniors. The hotel that was picked was Sheraton which was the hotel that I have in contact. Due to having all the details about Sheraton, I was the class representative in contacting and emailing with Sheraton. I kept in contact with Sheraton until the Prom day.

• Reflection

Our prom, Vivere, was very successful. The venue was exactly like what I discussed with the hotel manager. This experience taught me a lot of things that I cannot learn from anyone. While contacting the hotel, I discovered my strength which was that I have good communication skills and that I am highly comfortable with interacting and talking to people. However, I also discovered my weakness which is that I am a very forgetful person which resulted in me forgetting to discuss with my peers about some important details. There were many challenges and disagreements while organizing the prom and I am very glad that our class overcame those challenges which also strengthen our class unity.

• Demonstration

This project allowed me to learn the fundamentals in organizing events especially contacting the hotels and setting up the location. It is true that organizing the prom can be difficult however it is something that is achievable if the class work together to solve problems.
