The 7th Grade Chorus chose to explore a concert theme of "Space". You will hear two virtual choir projects and see our deep dive into the Beatles discography. We hope you enjoy the products of our remote learning classroom!
Count the Stars by Andy Beck
This is both the 7th graders' and Miss Connors's very first virtual choir! It debuted at the first remote WMS faculty meeting in May.
A regular part of rehearsal and good musicianship is analyzing a performance and setting specific goals for improvement. Students used a google form to critique the first recording and decided to focus on improving their Latin pronunciation, vowel shape, and dynamic contrast.
Our data doc is included above!
7th Grade Chorus would like to dedicate this recording in remembrance of all those who have lost their lives to COVID-19
Here Comes the Sun, arr. Alan Billingsley
The accompanying video includes members of our choir presenting their activities, people, pets, objects, and thoughts that bring them happiness and hope.
The Singers
In WMS Chorus, we've named our voice treble parts "Wellesley" and "Raider" because the singers perform both as Sopranos (high voices) and Altos (low voices), switching voice parts for each song. This helps our singers to build the ability to sing harmony, but also maintaining access to their higher range.
