Do you have an interview request form?
We do! Your success manager will send you a unique interview request form to request interviews with the speakers attending Web Summit.
The form filters speakers by industry, and also has an A-Z option, making it easier to find people of interest for you.
You are asked to submit a reason for the interview request and you can submit as many requests as you like up until a week before the event. We add new speakers to the line-up every week, so we recommend revisiting the form regularly to submit new requests.
By submitting your request, you consent for your contact details to be shared with your selected interviewees.
I've submitted my requests, what's next?
Once you submit the form, we will send your requests to the relevant speakers.
It is then up to the speaker to accept or decline your interview request. If the speaker accepts, you will be introduced over email to the speaker or the speaker's team, where you can arrange a suitable day and time for the interview and book an interview booth.
If the speaker declines your request, you will receive an email from your success manager confirming that the request has been unsuccessful.
I've not heard back from any of my requests, what does that mean?
If you do not receive any communication about a request, it means the speaker has not actioned it from their side.
We would advise reaching out to the speaker directly via the Web Summit mobile app to see if you can arrange an interview that way and we will continue to loop you in directly over the coming days if the speaker accepts through our process.
Where do interviews take place?
Interviews with speakers will take place in our interview booths in the Media Village.
You will see the location of the interview on the timeslot on your schedule on the mobile app.
What makes Web Summit different in terms of networking opportunities?
Web Summit is all about meaningful connections and building meaningful communities.
We run the world’s largest technology events, connecting people and ideas that change the world. Web Summit events – Web Summit in Lisbon, Web Summit Rio in South America, Web Summit Vancouver (formerly Collision in Toronto) in North America, RISE in Asia, and Web Summit Vancouver in the Middle East – have gathered half a million people since Web Summit’s beginnings as a 150-person conference in Dublin in 2009.
In the words of KPMG, "In three days, we made new contacts and collected solid leads that convert into valuable business relationships."
Whether you’re on or off stage, Web Summit provides plenty of opportunities to network and forge meaningful connections.
How do I schedule meetings on the mobile app?
Tap the ‘Discovery’ tab at the bottom right of your app screen.
Tap the search bar. Select ‘People, Partners or Startups’ tab and scroll through our attendee or companies’ list. Filter by attendee type, industry and location using the ‘Filters’ button, or search for an attendee you want to meet by using the search bar at the top of the screen.
On the attendee’s profile, tap ‘Request a meeting’, and fill out the relevant information.
The attendee will receive a notification and, if they accept the request, the meeting will be added to both of your personal event schedules.
You can export any connections you made in your Web Summit mobile app. In the mobile app, head to the "Connections" tab. Click "Accepted connections" and up in the top right hand corner you will see a "download" icon. Click this icon and A CSV file of your confirmed connections will be sent to the email address associated with your ticket.
Please note: only confirmed connections will be included in the export, pending connections will not be exported.
What are ‘Meetups’?
'Meetups' are a chance to meet new people and make new connections in informal settings during Web Summit Lisbon – day and night. We’ll make sure you’re invited to some that we think you’ll enjoy. More details here.
You'll find the Meetups you're invited to on the Web Summit Lisbon app home screen. We'll take the lead and invite you to those we think you'll enjoy, based on where you're from, your interests, your industry, and your community. Basically, whatever you've highlighted about yourself when completing your app profile!
You'll find the complete list of Meetups on the app's main page closer to the event. If there are any Meetups you are not invited to but wish to attend, feel free to show up – if there is space, you can join!
