Goals of Mini Unit 8A include:

• Review Definitions of Acids and Bases and Identification of conjugate acid/base pairs

• Understanding relationships between relative strengths of conjugate acid/base pairs

• Fundamental pH calculations

• Interpreting titration curves (strong acid/strong base titrations only) in terms of species present during titration and pH calculations at different points in a titration 

• Using principles of bonding and atomic structure to explain relative acid strength
