Unit 3: Intermolecular Forces and Properties
Energy of electrons, IMFs, Gases, Properties of Solutions, Solubility
IT'S OUR FRANKEN-UNIT!
Goals of Unit 3 Include:
Performing calculations using wavelength, frequency, energy, and moles of electrons
Identifying the types of Intermolecular Forces (IMFs) present in substances and mixtures
If liquids, using the IMFs of mixtures to determine whether the substances will dissolve AND using the IMFs to explain how chromatography separates the mixture
If solid, using the IMFs or other forces present to determine the type of solid
Using the IMFs present to determine or predict properties of solids, liquids, and gases
Explaining gas behavior in terms of Kinetic Molecular Theory, Ideal Gas Law, and Deviations from Ideal Gas Behavior
Unit 3 Lecture Videos:
Introduction to Light (Professor Dave!)
Fundamental relationships between wavelength, frequency, and energy (not me)
States of Matter (Ms. Barkume)
Gas Behavior Review, Ideal Gas Law (Ms. Barkume)
Units of Pressure (Dr. English)
Deviations to Ideal Gas Behavior
