We had an unsynchronous class in this meeting. Mr. Ali gave us the link of explanation about method of evaluation in ELT from Youtube. As the evidence that I have watched this video: (1) write name and student number on the comment room. (2) write comment or questions and (3) write understanding about how to implement the method explained on the video in the ELT context than upload it on your eportfolio. The deadline for these activities not later than 1 pm on Saturday, 30 Oct 2021.
According to JICA, there are four steps to select method of evaluation in ELT created by Donald L. Kirkpatrick. The steps are:
1. reaction -> the way participants react to the training program. from the reaction, we can know whether the participants are enthusiastic or not. it is also to measure of their satisfaction.
2. learning -> something participants get to improve their attitude, behavior, knowledge and skill.
3. behavior -> the changing of actions and thoughts of the program after training
4. result -> the final result occurs recognizing the increased production, improved quality and decreased cost.
Other evaluation models and approaches:
Behavioral Objectives Approach -> focus on the achieving goals of objectives
Responsive Evaluation -> Evaluators are responsible for the information needs of various audiences or stakeholders.
Goal-Free Evaluation -> Focuses on the actual rather than intended outcomes of a program.
Expertise/Accreditation Approaches -> to provide professional judgments of the quality of programs based on expert opinions.
Participatory/Collaborative Evaluation -> Emphasize the engagement of stakeholders in the evaluation process
Organizational Learning -> Views evaluation as a social activity in which evaluation issues are constructed by and acted on by organization members.
