Williamsville, Il – Williamsville High School received two silver medal rankings from US News and World Report. U.S. News & World Report analyzed federal and state government and private data for more than 20,487 public high schools across the country. They ranked more than 6,000 schools – only those that the data indicated were exemplary.
Illinois has many schools ranked in 2017 among the U.S. News Best High Schools, including 14 gold medal schools, 67 silver medal schools and 114 bronze medal schools. Many of the top-ranked schools are located in Chicago, home to the Chicago Public Schools.
WHS ranked 61st in the state of Illinois placing them in the top 10% and earning them a silver medal state ranking. About 95% of the schools that ranked ahead of Williamsville were suburban schools. Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college readiness. Williamsville’s Math and Reading scores were almost 30% higher than the state average.
“This ranking is a direct result of students, teachers, and parents working together to provide the best education possible. Our community takes great pride in its schools and I couldn’t be more proud of what our students and staff accomplish on a daily basis. Congratulations to both our student body and teachers.”
