Sofia Bertocci, Director of School Counseling-Grades 10-12 (sofia.bertocci@mtnviews.org)
She graduated from Allegheny College with a B.A. in English. She also earned an M.Ed. and C.A.G.S. in Professional School Counseling from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Prior to coming to Woodstock Union High School and Middle School, she was a middle and high school counselor for 16 years. Most recently, Sofia was Director of Counseling at Black River Middle and High School in Ludlow, VT. In addition, she has experience teaching abroad as well as with outdoor education and adventure-based therapy.
Sofia is a board member of Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society and has a strong appreciation of the outdoors and the natural world. She is an avid cyclist and cross country skier. She has coached both sports and enjoys working with children of all ages.
Marianne Ralph, Professional School Counselor - Grades 10-12 (marianne.ralph@mtnviews.org)
Marianne is a licensed school counselor and school social worker with a BA in Psychology from Westfield State University and a
M.Ed in Psychology from Springfield College. She has over 10 years of experience working with young children, adolescents and adults in schools through the college level.
Outside of school, she spends her time with her two young children, husband and two labrador retrievers! She loves to travel, camp and is a lover of all things comedy!
Vali Stuntz , Professional School Counselor- Grades 7-9 (vali.stuntz@mtnviews.org)
Vali is one of two school counselors for students in grades 7-9. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in Psychology and Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, with an M.A. in Psychology, and a focus in Strategic Family Therapy. Vali also holds a Vermont certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and worked for many years in various treatment facilities. She came to this position with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their families in a variety of educational, clinical and community settings. She's also been involved in program development, clinical research projects, wellness education, and parent education. Vali's personal interests are downhill and nordic skiing, mountain biking, gardening and spending time with family.
Sarah Lyon, Professional School Counselor- Grades 7-9 (sarah.lyon@mtnviews.org)
Sarah is a lifelong resident of Vermont, having spent the majority of her life in the Upper Valley. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Biology. She earned her Master’s of Science in School Counseling from Capella University. She has worked for multiple mental health agencies within the state, most recently for HCRS in both an outpatient and school based clinical setting. Sarah has a strong passion for supporting youth towards reaching their goals.
Sarah enjoy’s spending time with her family and especially watching her children explore the world. Sarah has a passion for baking and cooking which she often shares with her family, friends and co-workers.

Administrative Assistant
Janet North earned her B.A. in Art from Goshen College (IN). After working as a graphic designer, Janet switched careers and is now the Administrative Assistant in the Counseling Services Office. She enjoys helping students and getting to know the community through her work. Janet currently is on the board of the Ottauquechee Health Foundation (OHF), which provides grants and support programs to help meet health and wellness needs in Barnard, Bridgewater, Hartland, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Quechee, Reading, and Woodstock. In her free time Janet enjoys gardening, quilting, reading, being active outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Coordinator of Prospective New Student Visits and Tours (Main Office)
Joni Kennedy has been working at Woodstock Union High School and Middle School for over 27 years. Joni manages scholarships, and student & leadership opportunities. She also coordinates all of our prospective new student visits and tours, high school fairs, college fairs, open house for rising ninth graders and more! Joni sends out a weekly combined MS & HS Opportunities Email for students, parents and families. Joni works in the Main Office here at Woodstock Union High School and Middle School. In her free time she enjoys family, painting, writing, nature and horseback riding!
