Ms. Yolanda Jarrett, 6th Grade Counselor
Hi. I am Ms. Yolanda Jarrett, and I am new to Wakefield Middle School this year as the 6th grade School Counselor. This is my 11th year in WCPSS and my return to Middle School after having worked preK-12th grade. I attended Middle and High School in WCPSS and NCSU for college, but I will always call the great state of Connecticut my home. I am also from an international family and community of diverse cultures. Some of my hobbies (when I am not studying to finish my PhD) are singing, dancing, service through my sorority, exploring cultural events, watching sports (Go UCONN Huskies! Go Pack!), and sleep (because rest is important). I look forward to helping our 6th graders navigate middle school the next 3 years.

Mrs. Christine McGuire, 8th Grade Counselor
Hello, I am so excited to be the 8th grade counselor this year! This is my 8th year at Wakefield Middle School. Previously, I had worked at both the elementary and high school levels, but I have found middle school to be the perfect fit and my absolute favorite! I am a New York transplant, but have called Raleigh my home for 11 years. I love to cook, travel, and most of all spend time with my two beagles. The dogs and I were excited to officially marry my husband this October, and now we are looking forward to adding a baby girl to the pack in July.
I look forward to spending these transformative years with your children and working together as a proud member of their team. Students will see me throughout the school year for classroom guidance lessons, small groups, and as needed for individual counseling.
