At the end of the 2021-2022 school year, we had grown in this focus area, moving from a to a rating of 74% to a rating of 82%.

Objective 1

Over the course of the 21/22 academic year, every grade level will collaborate with the Media Specialist in order to integrate elements of our magnet theme into the curriculum.

Impact of our work on this objective:

* Students were able to experience the media center as an expansion of their classroom.

For example, 3rd graders learned about area and perimeter in their classroom and then came to the media center to reinforce their learning with the ozobot robots.

* Students were engaged in new technology.

For example, 5th graders learned how to use Ozobots to retell their narrative rainforest story. 2nd graders reviewed what they learned about pollinators with Ozobots.

* Students benefited from the knowledge of both their teacher and the Library Media Specialist.

For example, 5th graders learned about Jim Abbott and Jackie Robinson in the classroom and then learned how to use coding and Makey Makey to share their learning.

* Student activities included the use of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.

For example, Kindergarteners had to use aluminum foil to get their gingerbread man safely across the river.
