* Students were able to experience the media center as an expansion of their classroom.
For example, 4th graders learned about fractions in their classroom and then came to the media center to make their trail mix using what they learned in class.
* Students were engaged in new technology.
For example, 5th graders learned how to use Ozobots to map the journey of Lewis and Clark during the Westward Expansion Unit. 2nd graders were able to visit different markets around the world using Google Expeditions and virtual reality.
* Students benefited from the knowledge of both their teacher and the Library Media Specialist.
For example, 1st graders learned about different countries from their teacher and then specifically about their partner school in Pakistan from the School Media Specialist.
* Student activities included the use of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.
For example, 2nd graders had to work together to save their animal from a well using designated materials.

For example, 3rd graders used Lego WeDo to create robotic frogs that they coded actions for. They also learned about Ozobot and traveled a river with Google Expeditions and virtual reality at the end of the water unit.

For example, 4th graders worked with their teachers to create succinct broadsides and then worked with the Library Media Specialist to create a green screen video.

For example, 2nd graders had to work together to build a bridge over their river in the water activities.
