Earn college credit, tuition-free, while in high school! Wake Tech’s Career and College Promise (CCP) program offers eligible high school students the opportunity to earn a credential for employment or credits toward a college degree. In many cases, students can also earn dual credit - meeting high school graduation requirements with college courses.
Wake Tech CCP & Heritage High School Steps to Enroll
Review eligibility requirements and instructions for new and continuing CCP students at Wake Tech's College and Career Promise website.
Students follow the community college specific instructions for enrollment and satisfy all Heritage HS specific steps (see below).
Students should contact the Wake Tech CCP Office for any questions, concerns, or assistance. CCP Staff members serve as the first point of contact when students are in need of assistance.
Start by viewing the CCP Info Session Video (Pay close attention to information about PATHWAYS.)
Students can only take courses listed in the pathway in which they applied. Pathway information found here.

Need your transcript?
Students request their transcript using the district Scriborder site. Go to https://wcpss.scriborder.com/applicationCurrent. Complete required information, select "other" for address type, input your email address as the 1st part of the mailing address for the "delivery address," check the box "college," check the box (third from the bottom) that says, "College and Career Promise (Electronic Copy)" - it will send a secure link to the transcript that you can upload into the application for CCP.
Continue following the Wake Tech CCP Enrollment Process, including a Wake Tech Academic Advising Session. *Note: it is highly recommended that ALL CCP students attend a Wake Tech CCP Advising Session. Wake Tech requires all 9th and 10th grade students to schedule this appointment.
Students should not submit multiple application/forms without approval or instruction by CCP staff.
Heritage HS Email Addresses to use for the Eligibility Verification (EV) form:
Failure to list the correct email address for the EV form delays Wake Tech enrollment.
Applying for CCP and in the 11th or 12th grade? Use lweaver2@wcpss.net
Applying for CCP and in the 9th or 10th grade? Use jnewhouse@wcpss.net
As students review available Wake Tech courses in their CCP pathway to register to take, for hybrid or face-to-face courses, students must consider the Heritage HS bell schedule and what makes a four course schedule (a full schedule).
Taking one CCP course? You should have three HHS courses.
If taking a face-to-face course, choose a course that begins after 2pm.
If enrolling in two CCP courses, you'll have two HHS courses. To participate in CCP, students must be enrolled in at least 2 HHS courses.
If taking face-to-face courses, choose courses that begin after 12pm if you are choosing 2 classes.
You need to give yourself plenty of time to leave campus and arrive to your destination.
Prepare to leave HHS immediately at the end of your scheduled HHS courses. *This is a WCPSS Dual Enrollment policy*
CCP Students can only take classes within the pathway they applied. Students will be automatically dropped from their CCP course(s) by Wake Tech if they enroll in courses NOT listed in their pathway. Pathway information found here.
Not sure whether or not your chosen CCP course is eligible to satisfy required high school credits?
Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (how Wake Tech courses transfer to a 4 year NC college/university)
Once you have registered for Wake Tech CCP class(es), to get your Heritage HS schedule adjusted to allow for Wake Tech courses, the student must submit the following 3 items to Ms. Weaver at lweaver2@wcpss.net. This process must be done each semester registered:
A completed WCPSS Dual Enrollment Form (make sure to read and understand the back page, only parent and student signatures required for the signature portion)
A screenshot of the student's Wake Tech schedule, including course meeting days, times, and location
The HHS course(s) the student wishes to drop
See charges on your Wake Tech Student Account? Contact the Wake Tech Cashier's Office. HHS staff does not have any information.
See a zero or an INC in Infinite Campus for your Wake Tech course? Disregard. The zero/INC is automatically listed when high school grades are stored for report cards. The zero/INC does not impact your high school or college GPA whatsoever.
CCP course final grades are added to your official high school transcript after Wake Tech sends transcripts to HHS. This process is manual and can take time. The process will be completed before high school class rank is updated. CCP courses that are less than 3 credit hours will not be on the high school transcript.
The student is responsible for sending Wake Tech transcripts to college admission offices. Learn more here - https://www.waketech.edu/student-services/registration-student-records/how-to/order-transcripts
Wake Tech reports letter grades on their official transcripts. WCPSS reports numerical grades. In this scenario, WCPSS utilizes this scale provided by the NC Department of Public Instruction. See page 12 in the WCPSS High School Program Planning Guide.

The Academic Enrichment Opportunities (AEO) program at NC State University provides eligible high school students the opportunity to take college level courses.
This program is designed as an enrichment program to enhance the academic opportunities of advanced high school students who have exhausted all options, in a given subject area, available in their high school.
To be considered for the AEO program, students must be a junior or senior in high school, have high school records, including a weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and SAT, ACT, or other standardized test scores consistent with students entering the university’s freshmen class.
The program is not designed to replace course work, which is available at the high school level. Students should not choose courses, which are offered in their high school at either the basic, advanced, or Advanced Placement level. Nor should students attempt to take coursework at NC State University in order to prepare for higher-level courses in high school.
More Information & Application here.
Along with submitting an AEO application to NCSU, students must submit a WCPSS Dual Enrollment Form to Ms. Weaver once the student has registered for NCSU classes.
