I have lots of hobbies and interests outside of school. My favorites are camping and fishing. If I have a few hours (and the lawn is mowed) I'll probably be in my kayak searching for bass. If I have a few days I'll pack up my camper and head for the mountains and hunt up some trout.

I am a special education teacher. I co-teach ELA and Math with your 6th grade teachers as well as ELA for 7th grade. I'll be supporting you as you transition into the middle school setting.

I am a self-proclaimed super nerd. I love Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I also would rather be reading than pretty much anything! I have an awesome range of books available in my classroom library so feel free to stop by and browse if you're looking for something new to read.
I am very anti-snow. I moved to Raleigh in 2016 and absolutely LOVE the mild winters here. I do love to travel. I like the beach but my favorite vacations are to places where I can really delve into the history. I am always open to suggestions for my next excursion so if you have been somewhere interesting I would love to hear about it!

This year I will help you navigate your transition to middle school. Together, we will work on ways to manage your classwork and interactions with your teachers and fellow students.
You will see me throughout the day checking in on classrooms. I love visiting 6th Grade hallway and seeing all the knowledge that is being shared there. You have a great team of teachers to support your learning!
Other Information
I enjoy gardening and cooking. In fact, when clubs are active again, you can join me for Garden Club after school. It's a great way to apply your science and math skills in a way to help others as we donate the food we grow to a local community food bank.
I also love reading, playing board games, and listening to all types of music. I invite you to suggest books, games, or music for me to try. It helps me grow as a person.
