Town of Rolesville

The Town of Rolesville is looking for Volunteers!!! We have a few opportunities coming up, Litter Sweeps, Egg Rush, and Memorial Mile.


Litter Sweeps

Help keep Rolesville clean! Meet at the Rolesville Community Center - Side A at 9 AM on March 4th, April 15, and/or May 6th. We will provide safety vests, gloves, and bags. PLEASE wear closed-toe shoes and we recommend long pants to protect from tall grasses and insects. You will need your own transportation (or plan to ride with someone you know). We ask that everyone work in groups and there must be at least one adult over the age of 21 in each group. Plus, you get a FREE volunteer shirt! Please register online for each litter sweep you would like to participate in. We do accept day-of registration.


Egg Rush

The volunteer hours are April 1, 2023, from 8 AM to 11 AM at Rolesville Middle School. We need assistance with "hiding" eggs, putting out signs, crowd control once eggs are in designated places, assisting with "hunting eggs" and staffing the candy stations! The field will be divided into 3 age groups that will start at different times. Children will trade in their empty eggs for candy or small toys at the tables and there are prize eggs in each age group as well. All Volunteers will get a free t-shirt.


Memorial Mile

The volunteer hours are May 29, 2023, starting at 9 AM. Volunteers will help with placing and picking up the Memorial Signs on Trail A at Main Street Park. All volunteers will receive a FREE shirt!

Anyone between the ages of 12-14 years old must have an adult with them while volunteering.

History Children's Bookstore (HC Books)

History Children's Bookstore will be conducting their annual summer story time program this upcoming summer.

In need of some volunteers to assist with telling stories, helping to rearrange some furniture, and simply having fun. Students need to be mature, dependable, and have some theatrical experience/exposure. 

This is a great way for students to do community hours in preparation for graduation (this position is non-paid)The student must be able to transport themselves to the location.


Looking for Volunteers to Help Us Out This Summer

What: HC Books Summer Reading Program

An interactive summer reading program geared towards children between the ages of 5yrs to 10yrs old. Our theme this year is all about heroes. The program is 90min interactive story-time where in addition to reading stories to children, you’ll get to brush off your acting skills through improv and basic stage directions as we teach kids all about strength, courage, and what makes a true hero.

Requirements Include:

• Reliable transportation to and fro from the meeting location is required. Please note that this a NON-PAID VOLUNTEER POSITION. Looking for at least 3 or 4 volunteers per a story session.

• Very limited to no preparation time is required per the books and the books themselves will be given out the select storytellers who agree to read to the children.

• Additional help will be required to do some light moving of furniture to get space set up.

• Because the program is scheduled to start at 10am we are requiring volunteers to show up an hour early (9am) to help get the room ready for story time.

When: Every other Tuesday starting from June 21st to August 16th (you are not required to attend every session, but its strongly encouraged) Each session starts at 10am and volunteers are required to arrive at 9am

Rolesville's Annual Christmas Parade is right around the corner on Sunday, December 5! We are excited at the response we have received. The event continues to grow! We are in need of some more volunteers.

Wake forest holiday ARTISAN market

ARTS Wake Forest is seeking volunteers at the Wake Forest Holiday Artisans Market to be held on Dec 4 in Downtown Wake Forest. 

Help is needed on Dec 3 from 3:00-5:30pm and on Dec. 4 in 4-hour shifts from 6am-6pm. 

Volunteers will help with set-up, assist market vendors, work with adult volunteers on raffle sales & vendor hospitality, help with event breakdown and cleanup.

A Horse Connection

A Horse Connection is an equine assisted therapy farm in Zebulon.  We are looking for volunteers to help us with therapy appointments and potentially group events.  Here is what we are looking for:
