Mission
Wake County Public School System will provide a relevant and engaging education and will graduate students who are collaborative, creative, effective communicators and critical thinkers.

Vision
Poe GT/AIG Basics Magnet Elementary students become lifelong learners, while growing and excelling in academic achievement, attaining physical and emotional well-being, and exploring artistic expression.

Core Values

• We will provide targeted and engaging learning opportunities designed to meet the needs of every student. 

• We will use current data as a performance measurement to focus on and respond to student learning. 

• We will seek and implement strategies to meaningfully involve parents/guardians and the community in the education of our children. 

• We will support and challenge each other as colleagues to promote on-going professional growth within ourselves and educational growth in our students. 

• We will seek understanding of the comprehensive needs of our children and implement tools to address them.

Our mission, vision, and core values serve to shape the positive learning culture of Poe GT/AIG Basics Magnet Elementary School. We welcome the involvement of our students, parents, and community partners as we sustain a focus on inspiring and cultivating confident learners of all ages. Our School Improvement Plan (SIP) is our main tool for continuing to grow and excel as a school. If you would like to take a larger role in the ongoing modification and monitoring of the SIP, please contact the office to volunteer. SIP meetings are open meetings and all are invited to attend.
