Poe GT/AIG Basics was awarded the Purple Star Award by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
On the Poe GT/AIG Basics website there is a section that provides information about resources available to military-connected families and ways for military families to connect within our school community. Ms. Mary Paige Shrader is the interim School Counselor at Poe GT/AIG Basics Magnet Elementary School and serves as the Point of Contact (POC). Ms.Shrader's email is is mpmartin@wcpss.net.
Pre-deployment or post-deployment leave coming up? Please contact Ms. Register, Data Manager, at 919-250-4777 regarding needed documentation and the approval process for absences. Documentation is needed prior to the leave dates in order for the days to be considered an excused absence. Families PCSing overseas must notify Ms. Register within 2 weeks of deployment.
