We are currently in our sixth school year with students on tracks 1, 3, and 4 and a student population of just under 1,000 students.
Our MTAC consists of staff members from a variety of departments and grade levels.
During the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 school years, our MTAC was focused on device management and logistics.
In 2018-2019, we analyzed the library media and technology program through the WakeForward framework. The results showed a need for emphasis in professional learning. The Professional Learning Competency states: A strong school library program harnesses the collective leadership and expertise of the Media and Technology Advisory Committee members to lead personalized professional learning on skills related to information literacy, digital citizenship, and digital learning.
In 2019-2020, we continued our work in professional learning and began to look at our second goal, Curriculum and Instruction. Our main focus in this area is the transition from the North Carolina Information & Technology Standards to the national ISTE student standards.
