Student of the Week

Starting this quarter, we’re going to begin highlighting a student each week! Please read to find out how you can help us to get to know your fifth grader even better!

  • Monday-The student will share favorite things via a picture collage. Students can do this digitally, use magazine pictures, or even draw pictures!
  • Tuesday-The student will share their favorite book. They can just show/tell us about their book, or even read an excerpt!
  • Wednesday-The student will be given a lunch-sized brown paper bag and they should bring in items that are special to them (but have to fit into the bag).
  • Thursday-The student will share a special talent. This may be a picture/video of them doing something, a trophy, a trick or skill to demonstrate...anything goes!
  • Friday-The student will bring in a favorite snack to share with the class. (This must be store-bought.) I’ll ask the student’s parents to write a letter about what is wonderful and special about their child and send it to me in a sealed envelope. I’ll read this to the child and class.

Each Friday, I’ll send home a handout with the next week’s Student of the Week, so that student/parents may begin gathering the items needed.

I am so excited about this opportunity to learn more about your kiddos and let them learn more about each other. Please let me know if you have any questions.
