practice writing lowercase letters and the numbers 1-10 using a functional pencil grip (see picture below).
Read daily with your child to expose them to the following print concepts:
identify the front of the book
identify where to start reading (1st page)
point to where to begin reading the book (beginning of the first sentence)
point to where to go at the end of each line (sweep to the next line)
point to each word as the parent reads
identify the period as stopping a sentence
show the first and last part of a sentence (first and last word)
find a lowercase letter
find an uppercase letter
find and identify one letter/two letters
find one word/two words (look for the separation of spaces)
find a capital letter
attach the beginning letter sound to words (ball starts with the /b/ sound, cat starts with the /c/ sound)
