The ASVAB

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) was designed by the Department of Defense to assist students across our nation learn more about career exploration and planning. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a comprehensive career exploration and planning program that includes a multiple aptitude test battery, and interest inventory, and various career planning tools designed to help students explore the world of work. 

The ASVAB is given twice per year at FVHS. Dr. Jessee, Career Development Coordinator, can assist you with the sign up. Her contact info is linked here.

Steps to Joining the Military 

1. Meet with a recruiter 

2. MEPS 

3. Take the ASVAB 

4. Pass the physical examination

5. Determine Military career with a service enlistment counselor

6. Oath of Enlistment 

7. Basic Training
