At the bottom of this page you will find information about programs that we will be running throughout the school year as well as any important announcements. By clicking the button below, you can find your assigned School Counselor based on your last name and more information about our department. You can also read about the role of the School Counselor and the support we can provide.
School Counselors are available during school hours, 7am-3pm. If you need immediate mental health support, you can call the Alliance Health Crisis Response 24-Hour Crisis Hotline at 800-510-9132 or 919-560-7100.

Summer School - (application closes July 10th at 3:00 p.m.) - After you have reviewed the information found here, please contact your counselor if you have any questions.
Junior Conferences - May 19th
All Juniors will report to the Auditorium at the beginning of second period for the Junior Conference presentation. Juniors will be provided the option to schedule a follow-up meeting with their counselor to receive additional support with their postsecondary planning.

Scholarships/Awards
Attention Seniors! If you have received a scholarship/award from a college, you must complete this form and upload documents no later than MAY 16 in order to be recognized on Senior Night. The scholarship/award may be listed in the financial aid package sent to you by the college or university, or by the organization giving you the scholarship/award. Please submit a response & documentation for ALL scholarships/awards you have received, even if you are not planning to attend that specific college/university. If you are notified of a scholarship/award after May 16, please contact Mrs. Wood. If you have received more than 1 scholarship/award, please submit a new response for each scholarship/award you have received. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Wood at cwood6@wcpss.net

Spring 2025 Schedule Change Requests
ALL requests for schedule changes MUST be submitted through this form: Schedule Change Request Form
Please read all directions on the Schedule Change Request form carefully.
Schedule change requests will ONLY be reviewed for one of the following reasons:
• Failed a course needed for graduation
• Incomplete schedule – to fill a “hole” in the schedule
• Missing a core course required for graduation
• Missing a required prerequisite to take a course
• To increase rigor or address inappropriate level placement
• Previously failed with a scheduled teacher
• Schedule is unbalanced
• To request Senior Early Release
REQUESTS FOR ELECTIVE CHANGES WILL NOT BE GRANTED (unless it reflects an increase in rigor or a prerequisite is missing.)
DUE TO CLASSES BEING FULL AND SCHEDULING CONFLICTS, CHANGES ARE NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE. Students should monitor PowerSchool and their WCPSS Student email accounts for a response to the request. Please allow 7-10 days for requests to be reviewed.
The deadline to submit a schedule change request is January 30, 2025.
AP Exam Registration - Fall Semester AP Classes
Students enrolled in a Fall Semester AP class are automatically registered to take the AP in May when they complete the Join process for their teacher's online AP Classroom. If a student is registered for an exam and does not show up to take the exam in May, they will be charged a $40 unused exam fee by CollegeBoard.
Any student who does not want to take the AP exam needs to submit the Cancellation Form by November 14th.
College Application Week 10/21 - 10/27
During this week, many North Carolina colleges and universities waive their application fees. Student Services will be hosting a College Application Day during this week on October 23rd. All Seniors will be scheduled time in the Media Center on that day to get individual help with the college application process. There will be many college reps there to answer questions about their programs as well. Students are encouraged to work with their parents to complete Residency Determination PRIOR to October 23rd. Wake Tech Spring Semester Classes
The CCP enrollment cycle is now open for Spring Semester Wake Tech classes. Enrollment form submission deadline is November 15th. Follow the steps outlined in the links below:
