a. SLMCs lead in the school library media center and media program to support student success.
Provide open circulation during morning arrival time
Train volunteers and Junior Librarians (select 4th grade students) in how to sort, organize and shelve returned books, how to locate requested books, as well as how to utilize the circulation system
Shared with staff and students how to access e-books and library's online catalog from anywhere with internet access

Participate in school-based PLT monthly with 1st grade teachers, monthly with other specialists, and pushes in on occasion to other grade-level PLT's to collaborate or plan lessons

a. SLMCs establish a learning environment that facilitates access to resources and addresses the learning needs of all members of the school community.
Advocated for a media/tech assistant based on the demands for technology issues and fixed schedule that limits opportunity for true collaboration and project based learning, and attention to other program administrative responsibilities (collection management planning, grant writing, WakeForward inititative, etc.)
Shared with MTAC in person and students via Media Choice Board how to access e-books and audio-books through Destiny
b. SLMCs provide appropriate resources, services, and instruction for learners at all stages of development.
Shared information about anticipated ERD recommendations from Tech Services regarding iPads with administration and MTAC

As Tech Contact reset passwords for staff and students as requested, request network access for staff, add printers to laptops, troubleshoot technology issues & submit helpdesk tickets for those I am unable to resolve on my own
Incorporated kinetic, auditory, tactile, oral and music activities with 1st and 2nd graders to help them learn their student ID numbers

Purchased NC Children Book Award Nominee books and used in instruction with grades K-5
Maintain collection, which is aligned with and supports the NC Standard Course of Study, and contains books (print and electronic) to support student's recreational and informational needs
b. SLMCs serve, promote and facilitate inquiry-based instruction and the effective use of information and technology.
Collaborated with the 5th grade team to improve the Westward Expansion project, to include virtual site as a result of COVID-19

a. SLMCs use effective pedagogy to infuse content-area curricula with 21st Century skills.
Implemented Interland games to re-inforce digital citizenship and online safety concepts with 3rd-5th grades, providing social learning opportunities and encouraging Critical Thinking, Communication and Collaboration, as well as using strategies within the games that easily translate strategies students can use while taking EOGs
b. SLMCs know the content appropriate to their teaching specialty.
Provided instruction to all grades on internet safety using Common Core curriculum lessons printed by L. Woodard and shared by Mr. Batten.
Use eWISE research model with students
Utilize Learning Central and CMAPP 2.0 to access grade level classroom objectives and standards, as well as NC Information and Technology Essential Standards for K-5 when planning instruction
Lead MTAC in WakeForward Goal related to Data & Privacy with long-term goal of providing professional learning for all staff and instruction related to online safety and digital citizenship to all students beyond that received in Media specials
