Career and College Promise (CCP) Information for Fall 2024
The Wake Tech Career and College Promise (CCP) program is an opportunity for high school students to take tuition-free dual enrollment classes through a community college. Most students participate in the program as juniors and seniors. The Wake Tech CCP enrollment cycle for Summer 2024 and Fall 2024 opened on Friday, March 1st. The course schedule opened April 1st and students could register for classes starting April 11th. Interested students should begin by reviewing the eligibility requirements and watching Wake Tech’s CCP information video. If you’re interested in taking a course in the fall, please plan to complete enrollment as soon as possible. The enrollment forms deadline for Fall is Friday, July 19th and self registration closes July 28th. Students that have taken courses or completed the enrollment process before will need to complete the continuing student form. If you have any questions, please contact Student Services. There is no ranking of electives. All electives have an equal chance of being scheduled.

North Carolina Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship is $2000 and open to a male or female, on track to graduate this spring and planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university. iContact Foundation Scholarship Up to $20,000
1) Have been employed by iContact at any time, 2) be the child (biological, foster, adopted, or step) of an iContact employee at any time, or 3) be a person living in Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake county who is majoring in computer science, business or entrepreneurship, economics, or marketing and communications. Scholarship recipients are selected based on demonstrated financial need, community involvement and leadership, and academic merit.
Joseph Nystrom Working Student Scholarship Up to $16,000
Students in Orange, Wake, Durham, Chatham, or Alamance counties who are working at least part-time while in school and have demonstrated financial need.
NC American Indian Fund Scholarship $1,000
Enrolled in a state- or federally-recognized tribe (with documentation), demonstrate sustained involvement in the American Indian
Community and commitment to American Indian concerns and initiatives, and have family residency in the state. Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary institution in North Carolina, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, and plan to pursue a two-year or four-year undergraduate degree as a full-time student at an accredited public, private, or technical college or university. Shaver-Hitchings Scholarship $1,500
Resident of Durham, Orange, Wake, or Chatham counties and be enrolled or planning to enroll in graduate school, a physician assistant program, or medical school. Applicants should have experience serving those with substance abuse disorder or with preventive education on the subject of addiction.
Ruby Ennis Maynard Scholarship $2,500
Single mothers or female heads of household in Chatham, Durham, Orange, Wake or Onslow counties. Applicants should demonstrate a desire to improve their skills to succeed in their current career or to change careers.
Triangle Scholarship Fund $10,000
One high school senior and one adult learner in Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake counties planning to attend a public or private college or university in North Carolina. Must have a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to improving their community through volunteer work, work experience, and/or future aspirations and plans.

The Sigma Scholars Inc. 501 (c) 3 foundation was established to provide scholarships to deserving Wake County Public Schools Seniors who have been accepted and who have committed to attending a Two-Year College (Associate’s Program) or Four-Year College
(Bachelor’s Program) after graduating from High School. Along with the application, students must have a minimum 2.8 GPA, complete a 400 word essay, provide two letters of recommendation, and have completed a minimum of 30 hours of community service. Kassel A. Smit Make A Difference Scholarship
Students graduating from Cary High School in June 2022 who plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college are invited to apply for this scholarship. There will be a total of two individuals awarded $3,000 scholarships each for a single year of study beginning in the fall of 2022 at a 2 or 4 year college.

The Ramage Family Scholarship

Couch Oil Cares Scholarship Program: $1,000 will be awarded to six (6) individuals across a 16-county area who plan to attend a four-year or community college (first-year students only). 2022 Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Wake Chapter scholarship
The $500 scholarship is for a high school senior with hearing loss who resides in Wake County and is seeking acceptance or has been accepted at an accredited university, college or community college. HLAA Wake Chapter will announce one or two recipients in May. Applicants must have a moderate hearing loss or more and wear a hearing aid(s) and/or cochlear implant(s). Financial need is not a consideration. The scholarship is a one-time award and will be sent to the recipient when s/he begins classes.

The Alliance of Black School Educators (ABSE) of Wake County Scholarship - awarded to students of African American descent to promote the mission of enabling high academic achievement. Four $1000.00 scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors in the Wake County Public School System. All applicants must have an acceptance letter in a college or university, complete the application, provide one letter of recommendation, and provide a one-page (typed and double spaced) essay that includes the following topics: Your Leadership Qualities/Experiences, Community Service Experiences, and Why You Should Receive the Scholarship. Triangle Italian American Women’s Club (TRIAWC) 2023 Mary DeBonis Scholarship - The Triangle Italian American Women’s Club (TRIAWC) is a nonprofit organization and is proud to uphold the scholarship tradition awarded to highschool women of Italian descent. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 13, 1913, on the campus of Howard University by twenty-two collegiate women. These women wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and provide assistance to persons in need. Each year our organization recognizes hundreds of students across the nation for their scholastic achievements.

Cary High Senior Award Nominations - Due May 4th
Each year the Cary High School staff helps identify three graduating seniors and one Cary High staff member to receive awards on Academic Awards and Recognition Night (formerly Senior Awards Night). 🎉 The awards are named in honor of three people who played important roles in the lives of Cary High students and the Cary community: Walter G. (Guy) Mendenhall, Paul Cooper and John Stevens. The Paul Cooper and John Stevens Awards are awarded to graduating seniors while the Guy Mendenhall Award is awarded to one staff member and one graduating senior. Nominations may be submitted by department or individual staff members and must be turned in no later than Thursday, May 4th.
Additionally, each year 2 students are selected to receive a $3,000 Kassel A. Smit Make A Difference Scholarship in memory of a late Cary High student, Kassel Smit. Students can be nominated by a staff member, or they may nominate themselves. A complete application is required to be considered for these scholarships. This scholarship application is due by Friday, May 5th.

Friends of the Page-Walker Scholarship: ($1,000) awarded to a graduating high school senior residing in Cary who has been accepted into and plans to attend a college our university. In addition, the recipient’s name will be displayed on a permanent plaque at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. The Cary High School Student Services Team is excited to welcome students back for the 2021-2022 school year!
The period for reporting scheduling concerns has ended.
Students who have a concern about their spring schedule will have the opportunity to address those concerns in December.
Students who want to request to level up or down in a class (i.e. English 2 to Honors English 2) must pick up a Level Change Form in the Student Services Office. Level Change Forms must be signed and returned no later than Monday, August 30th at 3pm.
Application courses, early release/late arrival, midyear graduation, math placement waiver forms, etc. can be found to the left under the 21-22 Registration heading.

The Cary Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity through the Kappa Foundation of Cary Scholarships - Due by Friday, April 30 - The Cary Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity through the Kappa Foundation of Cary (KFOC) is pleased to award applicants three (3) tuition assistance scholarships and one (1) book award for the college academic year beginning in the Fall of 2021. The “minimum” tuition assistance scholarships are valued as follows: 1 @ $1,500 and 2 @ $1,000 and the book award valued at $500. The purpose of the Kappa Foundation of Cary is to foster the intellectual, ethical, social, and moral development of youth in North Carolina with emphasis on disadvantaged African-Americans in Western Wake County Schools. In addition to nurturing and supporting the intellectual development of these young people, the KFOC strives to deepen young people’s commitment to their communities and to promote pro-social values such as personal responsibility, respect for self, respect for others, and achievement in every field of endeavor.

Kassel A. Smit Make A Difference Scholarship - Due April 30, 2021 - Students graduating from Cary High School in June 2021 who plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college are invited to apply for this scholarship. Students may also be nominated by a Cary High School teacher or staff member with the consent of the student being nominated. There will be a total of two individuals awarded $3,000 scholarships each for a single year of study beginning in the fall of 2021 at a 2 or 4 year college. Robert N. Styres Scholarship (given by Rotary Club) - Due Wednesday, April 10, 2021 - One student is nominated by each high school in Wake County due by April 10, 2021. It is awarded to a Wake County public high school graduate who has been accepted at a four-year college/university or a two-year community college. Please refer to the following link to receive additional information regarding the Robert N. Styres Scholarship: www.rotaryclubcapitalcity.org. The value of the scholarship is a $4,000.00 award per year, granted $2,000.00 per semester. The Scholarship is renewable, as long as the student is enrolled full-time and is making satisfactory academic progress, not to exceed eight (8) consecutive semesters for a total award of $16,000.00. While academic achievement is important, the Scholarship is not necessarily intended for the young man or woman with the highest grade point average. Rather, we try to select a person with good to average grades who is a hard worker and who may have overcome some adversity along the way.

The local Beta Omicron Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa Scholarship - Due Tuesday, April 9, 2021 - One or more scholarships of at least $2000 will be awarded to a Wake County Public School System senior who plans to enter the field of Education.
Applicants need to submit:

Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club James Atkins Memorial Scholarship - Due March 15, 2021 - The Cary-Kildaire Rotary Club will award the James Atkins Memorial Scholarship to a 2021 high school graduate. RAP has a new format for 2021. The College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) invites rising high school juniors and seniors to participate in a two-week, virtual research program, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., weekdays, June 7-18. Upon graduation from high school and enrollment at N.C. A&T in a CAES program, participants will receive an $800 scholarship. The scholarship will be distributed during the first and second semesters of a student’s freshman year at A&T.

AP Testing Information Form
Most Cary High School AP students will be taking AP exams May 18-May 28. All exams except for AP Calculus, AP French Language, AP Music Theory, AP Physics, AP Spanish Language and AP Statistics will be taken digitally at home unless specifically requested otherwise. Every student MUST complete this survey. More information will be coming as details are finalized prior to testing in May. College Planning Night April 22nd!
From the comfort of your own device, our annual College Planning Night is back this year as an all virtual event on 4/22/21 5:15-8:00pm. Details about the event, including a college participant list and how to access the program are included in the designated website listed below. College Planning Night is designed to target Juniors interested in college options after graduation, however, other grade level students and curious family members will also benefit and are welcome to attend. Career and College Promise Enrollment for Spring 2021 is Underway!
Earn college credit, tuition-free, while in high school! Wake Tech’s Career and College Promise (CCP) program offers eligible high school students the opportunity to earn a credential for employment or credits toward a college degree.
New Students: The first step to enroll in CCP is to complete a mandatory Information Session. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Information Session is being offered online. Students will be able to access the CCP application form link and printable enrollment documents at the conclusion of the session. The deadline to apply is November 14, 2020.
Continuing Students: Students who are currently enrolled in the CCP Program will receive their Eligibility Verification (EV) Form within the Self-Service portal within the "Required Documents" section. Before beginning the form, see the Continuing Student Enrollment Checklist below. Students must submit an updated high school transcript with their EV Form. (*Transcripts with a print date between August 17, 2020 to the present day will be acceptable). The Continuing Student EV Form will be available in Self Service on September 28, 2020.
