Little learners are admitted to classrooms starting at the 8:45 AM bell to unpack, get situated and begin morning routines. Class begins promptly at 9:15 AM and students arriving after this will be counted tardy as well as miss the opportunity to adjust to the School Family setting.
Dismissal begins at 3:45 PM. Please make sure to notify the school if your child will be going home a different way than he/she usually does. We must have a written note or phone call with specific instructions. For safety reasons, if we are not notified of a change, your child will go home the way he/she normally does.
Regular attendance is important for school success. If your child is going to be out, please call the office or email your child's teacher to let them know. A handwritten note must be sent in with your child in order for their absence to be excused when they are sick.
Yes, make certain your child has an extra set of clothes in a labeled plastic bag . Should these clothes be used, please send an extra set the following day. These will be sent home periodically as the seasons change to be swapped for weather appropriate clothing.
Yes, please send a healthy snack each day.
Your child can bring a no-spill water bottle to school each day if it seals completely. (It must not leak and cannot be juice.) Please make sure their name is on it.
You can add money directly to your child’s account by going to www.myschoolbucks.com.

Report Cards use standards based grading with the following ratings:
4= consistently exceeds expectations "I went above and beyond what was asked of me."
3= meeting grade level expectation "I did this by myself."
2= approaching grade level expectation "I did this with help."
1= unable to meet grade level expectations "I am unable to do this with help."
*Common misconception: Going above grade level or into the first grade curriculum, does not necessarily mean your child is performing at a level 4. Standards based grading is measured by your child's ability to meet each individual standard and go deeper within their current grade level.
2nd Quarter Teacher Conferences- your child's teacher will reach out to you to set this up so you can learn all the wonderful things your child is doing in class!
It is our policy that edible treats are no longer permitted for birthday celebrations. Instead, we encourage parents to buy a book to read to the class on your child’s birthday, and then donate it to the library.
