How
CAM "AFTER SCHOOL" DAYS:
-We meet in the Art Room after school ends at 2:15pm.
-Once roll is taken, we WALK from Moore Square all the way to CAM (it's about 15 min walk)*
*(We do not return to Moore Square and there's no activity bus)
-We usually have SNACK and prepare for the afternoon's activities.
-Activities are from 3pm-4pm...then PARENTS PICK UP STUDENTS AT CAM (NOT MOORE SQUARE)
PARENT PICK UP PROCEDURES
Please, Arrive at CAM BEFORE 4PM to pick up students (Not Moore Square Middle School)
Students "check-out" with Mr. Kreacic (or CAM representative) & mark themselves out on the web site...
(STUDENTS DO NOT LEAVE CAM WITHOUT A PARENT/GUARDIAN PRESENT)
Running REALLY LATE to pick up.... PLEASE, call CAM: 919-261-5920 and let us know.
FIRST FRIDAY: DOCENT NIGHT "TIPS AND TRICKS" HERE
"CAM Member Docent Night" PROCEDURES
CAM Member Nights will be specified nights that students will need to be at CAM to actually work as docents
(interacting with the public).
Parents will drop off their students to return later for "pick-up".
Students must check in with Mr. Kreacic when arriving.
When leaving CAM for the evening: A PARENT/GUARDIAN must CHECK-OUT their student with Mr. Kreacic IN PERSON.
Warehouse District PARKING is VERY "challenging" during these events, please plan about 15-20 min to look for a parking spot.
OR
consider pay parking at The Dillon Parking Garage near CAM (CLICK HERE)
OR
it may be to your advantage to have a "driver" wait with your vehicle while the other person comes inside to pick up your student
All students will remain at CAM until released to their parent or guardian.
CANCELATIONS OR "EMERGENCY" CHANGES
In the event there needs to be a change or cancelation of any of our meetings,
Mr. Kreacic will POST ON the VISUAL ARTS TWITTER PAGE
Arrive before 6:30pm and meet the group at the top floor "back classroom" or the "downstairs back hallway".
Wear a YOUR CAM Shirt or a BLACK SHIRT and / or "nice clothing" as you are representing MOORE SQUARE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND C.A.M.
Bring your notes with you.
Smile !
Be welcoming to guests with the greeting we practiced
"Hello, welcome to CAM. My name is_______ and I go to Moore Square Middle School"
You can introduce the artist and name of the artwork you are standing in front of and tell the guest something about the art from your notes.
Start a conversation with the guest:
"This is what I like about the artwork... What do you like about it?"
And lastly, protect the artwork on display if needed for those who get too close.:
"Please, don't touch the artwork" or "Please, step back from the art"
If you don't know the answer, it's ok. Be honest:
"I don't know that answer, but I'll find out for you."
Overall... HAVE FUN !
Look for Mr. Kreacic or Ms. Cyndi Harris , we will be there to help.
Always check out with Mr. Kreacic when LEAVING CAM (with your parent or guardian)
