The Multicultural Monument

Our monument represents Canada and our sheltering of others who are less fortunate. Our doors and windows are open in Canada as we let people from all over the world in to experience life at it’s fullest. Our monument in real life is located out the exit of Toronto Pearson. We located it there because it is a monument of welcoming.

The roof of our monument is made of pink quartz because it represent that not only we physically shelter people but that we shelter them with love as well. Our house is made of high quality birch wood. Our windows for the flag are red - stained glass and our maple leaf is made out of maple leaves from all around Canada, representing how we are multicultural everywhere. Our Multicultural Monument is fairly large in real life. The scale for our monument is 1cm: 8m. In all we think Canada is very multicultural and we think our monument represents it very well.

Our Process in Building the Monument:

• We searched up a maple leaf to find people who previously made them in tinkercad and then downloaded it our workspace in tinkercad.
• We then made the angle of it facing straight.
• Then we added a cube and made the length 50mm the width 50mm, and the height 50mm.
• Then we made the maple leaf 15mm by 15mm.
• Then we added a pyramid to tinkercad.
• We then made the base of the pyramid 50mm by 50mm and the height 40mm.
• We struggled to make the pyramid align with the cube.
• After many times of trial and error we eventually lined it up.
• We added a cube and sized it down so we could make the door so it looks like it is opened.
• Then we added another one and made it a hole so it will look like the door is opened.
• After that we added another cube and put it beside the maple leaf so it will look like a window.
• We repeated that to the other side.
• Once we finished making the windows we were done our monument.
