For this design project, we decided to be good Canadian boys and girls and show everyone what our awesome country has made, and all we have accomplished in terms of innovation. Now, Canada's made many things like the telephone, 5 pine bowling and basketball. To show this information we decided to make an arrow with a clock to show innovation in a creative way. We first decided to design a totem pole with something Canada has to relate to innovation, including glasses, tree, arrow, a clock, book or a brain. Then we came up with the idea of doing an arrow pointing up (for looking forward/success) and a clock on the arrow (for time passing/becoming smarter over time). We made the arrow out of iron and we put it at the entrance of the Toronto airport because it means going up and passing time by becoming more knowledgeable and more efficient, we hope the public likes it.
For our design project, we used tinkercad (an online editing system used for 3d printing) and created the image shown to the left. First we had to make the arrow shape by putting a triangle and a rectangle together, but that wasn't enough. We then went to putting a maple leaf on it and a clock showing time passing.
This is our paper design of our project showing front, left, right and back of our tinkercad design project. This is were the magic began with a drawing.
This is were we decided to put our monument at the Toronto Pearson Airport. We chose this because the airport is known for going up (the airplanes) so we decided that whenever someone would go for a flight they would think of Canada's success.
