Our students at Franklin do a lot of creating using their iPads. Our newer devices this year have unlocked new opportunities for students to create. Throughout the year I saw how talented our students are when using their devices. They have made great music, created amazing artwork, and have coded some great projects using their iPads. I decided our students needed to show off these talents! So, students in grades second through fifth grade were given an opportunity to sign up for a month-long technology club called "Showcasing Art through Technology". Students signed up to come in during their recess time to use their technology to create a piece of artwork. Students chose from different creation or coding apps, such as Keynote, iMovie, GarageBand, Scratch JR, Clips, or Tynker.
Students were allowed to create anything they were passionate about. Some students used GarageBand to sing a song they created or to record themselves playing their instruments. Other students created drawings using Keynote or Tynker, students who used Tynker added code to their artwork! A few students took the goal of creating art to an interesting level and decided to create a presentation on the "Art of Kindness"!
Our students at Franklin showed a lot of perseverance and pride when creating. Our students have great talents and it was amazing to let them be free to follow their passions!
