Introduction to Healthcare Careers
Dual credit available - 3 credits
HLHS 100 opens the door to what healthcare is; exploring different healthcare facilities, different healthcare careers, trends in healthcare, healthcare documentation, soft skills to foster obtaining a future career in health, creating a professional portfolio, exploring culture and religion on healthcare.
HLHS 101
Medical Terminology
Dual credit available - 3 credits
HLHS 101 facilitates the student to learn to read, write, and speak the medical language. The course breaks the body into 12 systems to allow students to pace the process of learning the organs, function, diagnostic procedures, surgical procedures, and common diseases of each system.
HLHS 107
Certified Nursing Assistant Preparation
Dual credit available - 5 credits
HLHS 107 prepares students to test for the Indiana State Department of Health Certified Nurse Assistant exam. Once the student passes the written and practical exams, the student then may apply and work as a Certified Nurse Assistant anywhere in the state of Indiana. This certification is valid for a 2 year period.
