(HLHS 100)
Dual credit available - 3 credits
Students begin to opening their minds to the healthcare arena. Students will be exposed to the different healthcare facilities, healthcare career options, soft skills to enhance employment opportunities, the impacts of culture and religion on healthcare, and will build a professional portfolio.
(HLHS 101)
Dual credit available - 3 credits
Students will learn to read, write, and communicate using medical terminology. The body is broken down into 12 systems covering the organs, functions, lab/diagnostic tests, surgical procedures, and common diseases of each body system.
(HLHS 107)
Dual credit available - 5 credits
Students will learn and practice skills to prepare to sit for the Indiana State Department of Health Certified Nursing Assistant written and practicum exam. Once the student completes the course and successfully passes the ISDH CNA exams, students will be able to work throughout Indiana as a Certified Nursing Assistant. The certification is valid for a 2 year period.
