This year, unlike any other year, may be causing some extra stress regarding the beginning of the school year! Hopefully after seeing this information, many minds will be at ease on what to expect on the first few days of school!

The day begins with students entering the building at 7:50 a.m. and heading towards their new classrooms. Not sure where to go? No problem! Students who attended WPS last year will be met by their previous year teacher who will escort them to their new rooms. Other support staff will also be available to guide students in the right direction!

Upon entering their rooms, teachers will be there to greet them and get them started with unpacking and building the morning routine. Many classrooms will have activities or work for students to complete prior to the official start of the day at 8:10 a.m.

Once the tardy bell rings, students will begin going through the daily routines and curriculum. Teachers will be helping students better their worlds, better themselves, and learning to be PAX leaders! Mr. Young will visit every classroom to discuss some of the school procedures and how we can be the best Wauseon Indians we can be!

Around the middle of the day, students will have a nice 30 minute recess on our two playgrounds outside! There are slides, swings, monkey bars, and much more! Students will be encouraged to keep themselves and others safe and an area for a mask break will be provided.

After recess, students will reenter the classroom to prepare for lunch! Students have a choice of the hot meal of the day, PB&J, or a salad. The ladies in the cafeteria are amazing and will take great care of the student's needs. Classes will be sitting in designated spots at our new round tables! When it is time to leave, students will be placing their trays at our return window and lining up with their classes to await their teachers’ arrival.

Somewhere during the day students will have their daily special! This is either Music with Mrs. Harben, Physical Education with Mrs. Dotson, or Art with Mrs. Gordon. Students have many opportunities to learn different skills and showcase their talents in these areas.

The remainder of the day continues with more curriculum and another outside break. At 3:05 p.m., the doors open for families to come in to pick up their car riding children and the bus riders are dismissed at 3:15 p.m.
