Special Education
Students identified as having special education needs will be assigned a case manager. An Individual Educational Plan (IEP) will be jointly written by the parents, student, special education teacher, regular education teacher, administrative designee and others involved in the student’s program. Course selection and graduation requirements will be determined within the Special Education network.

BUSINESS CORE

This course is designed for students who need instruction in basic keyboarding. Areas of study to include career exploration, employment skills, and consumer information, as well as software programs, which include Google Drive and Microsoft Word. Keyboarding of class assignments using the correct format will be included such as writing reports and papers.
Note: Student must successfully complete Business Core semester 1 or a Keyboarding class to advance to Today’s Tech Trends Core semester 2.
WORKPLACE READINESS

This semester-long course will focus on employability skills including critical thinking, workplace ethics, responsible behavior, completion of job applications, interviewing skills and workplace etiquette. There will be a classroom component and hands-on opportunities to build and reinforce skills in a workplace setting. The main focus is to provide instruction to strengthen individual employability skill sets.

Specially Designed Physical Education. This course is IEP driven, designed to meet the unique needs of each student. The focus will be put on lifetime activities such as swimming, bowling, adventure education, curling and fitness related activities.
SPORTS AND SKILLS

Specially Designed Physical Education. This course is IEP driven, designed to meet the unique needs of each student. The class is fitness based teaching the components of fitness, as well as helping students to understand their fitness needs, and design plans accordingly. Students will also learn appropriate game play, stressing teamwork and cooperation along with overcoming challenges of self and others in participation.
PAES LAB

Specially Designed Pre-Vocational Job Training. This course is designed for students with an IEP to provide real life job experience in the following areas; Construction/Industrial, Processing/Production, Consumer/Service, Business/Marketing, and Computer/Technology. The focus of this course is to develop independence inthe workplace and emplyability skills.

This course is designed for students who have an Individual Education Plan (IEP). Daily scheduled time varies based on specific student needs. Individual student goals are addressed during this structured individual and small group instruction time.
