Multilingual Learner
Multilingual Learner
We believe in the right to a free and equal education in practice as well as in theory. We believe in the right to have one’s feelings of self-worth not measured by the quality and/or quantity of one’s proficiency in English. We believe in the right to mutual cultural acceptance for being linguistically and culturally different but equal.
Multilingual Learners register for English courses based on their English proficiency level and acquisition of academic language. ML students are encouraged to take one full credit of English each semester in order to accelerate English acquisition. At the high school level, a student can remain in ML classes for up to four years as it can take as many as 7-10 years to become English proficient.
