MS. SPICER

Hi everyone! I am Ms. Spicer and I am the 7th grade math teacher in Cluster 3.

I grew up in Danvers, MA. In middle school, I was super shy but I loved dance, running and math of course! After graduating high school, I went to college at MIT in hopes of becoming a mathematician or research scientist. My major was Brain and Cognitive Science. While in college I had the opportunity to travel to Italy and teach middle school math. I loved it so much and when I returned I changed my career path to become a middle school math teacher!

I taught 8th grade math in Franklin, MA for 4 years before coming to Watertown to teach 7th grade. This year is my second year in Watertown. I am also currently working towards my Masters degree in Math Teaching at Mount Holyoke College. In my free time I love hiking, biking, spinning, paddle boarding, cooking, going to the beach and hanging out with my puppy, Mia!

I believe that ALL students have wonderful math ideas and that students learn math best through talking and working together. I'm looking forward to a great year!
