Hello, my name is Ms. Lorigan.
This year will be the first in over 20 years that I'm not teaching both English and social studies (aka, Humanities), but instead just social studies.
I look forward to a very interesting year full of learning and laughter with all of you. We will need to roll with the challenges set forth by this pandemic, which I hope that we can do it with some good humor.
Other than juggling the needs of daily life, some of my favorite things to do outside of work are to hang out with my sons (Max, age 19, and Charlie, age 17); have good dinners with my husband or our friends; walk around towns looking at architecture; read; travel nearly anywhere possible; go on little hikes in the woods; grow vegetables and flowers; and if I’m very lucky, relax in our hammock and watch the clouds pass by.
One of my most thrilling life experiences (besides teaching) was a six-month adventure in 2015 with my two sons and husband. We took a trip that took us around the world (18 countries, 25 flights, 54 different beds, 28,000 photos). The world is a much kinder place than the news makes it out to be.
