Who can take CCP classes?
Must be in the 11th or 12th grade or a WIA student
Have an unweighted GPA of 2.8 or higher
Are you a WIA student?
Check out the WIA website for more information regarding your CCCTI class options!
Verify that you are eligible to take CCP classes
Pick up the CCP application from Student Services
Turn in the application to Student Services (with parent's signature)
Add CCCTI placeholders to your course requests for the 2023-2024 school year
Meet with Ms. Brown to set up your classes
Remember some CCCTI classes are online, seated at WHS, or seated at CCCTI Watauga campus --Make sure you understand and agree to the mode that your class is offered in!
Students seeking access to community college coursework while in high school take classes within chosen pathways. This may be a CTE certificate/diploma pathway or an Associate Transfer program. Some CCCTI CCP classes also count as high school graduation requirements.
Different CCP CCCTI classes may carry different quality points. You can use the document below to find specific course information.
Watauga Innovation Academy (WIA) allows students to begin earning community college and high school credit beginning in 9th grade.

Do I have to attend the orientation at the beginning of each semester?
Yes, it is important and mandatory each semester
Are CCP classes free?
Tuition is free for CCP students
Students are responsible for student fees and textbooks if needed for each class
There are course fees (both for online and in-person courses)
Do I need a textbook? If so, where can I get it?
Some classes have free PDF textbooks online. You can check this website to see to see if a textbook is required and order online using the ISBN number or purchase through the CCCTI Bookstore
Do I have to log in to my online class at a certain time?
Most online classes you only need to meet the deadline for turning in each assignment
CCCTI uses a different online learning platform that WHS/WIA so be sure to familiarize yourself with the system
It does log your time online
If you are required to be on the computer at a specific time, your instructor will communicate that with you (make sure you are checking your CCCTI email daily)
Where does my class meet?
Classes are offered online, hybrid (half online/ half seated in person), and seated in person
MAT 171, MAT 152, PSY 150, BIO 168, BIO 169 are sometimes offered seated in person at WHS
This changes semester to semester - if you are interested talk to Ms. Brown
Various classes are offered seated in person on the Watauga CCCTI campus
Check with Mrs. Watson for semester to semester availability
