In Socratic Seminars, you are in charge of your own literary discussions. We will be participating in Socratic Seminars during different novel studies this year. Watch this short video to get an idea of how they work.
Before each seminar, you need to have written interpretive questions that will lead to good discussion. These are questions that have more than one right answer.
Come to the seminar with:
A) The attached Socratic Seminar Prep sheet with 3 questions of your own devising in any three areas. Answer your own question in the appropriate boxes.
B) Be sure to use quotes within your answer (grafted) to support your ideas. Don't forget the page number!
C) Don't forget to take NOTES on the reading section. You will need to show those before the Socratic Seminar and will use them to aide your discussion.

If you do not bring your assignment to the seminar, you will receive a zero. Remember, these assignments cannot be made up for credit.
Note: YOU MUST BRING YOUR BOOK CLASS IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN AND RECEIVE FULL CREDIT FOR THE SEMINAR.
