Welcome to September! We are so excited to have the school year underway and to see our students settling into their routines. September is a month full of fresh starts, new friendships, and the joy of learning. Our focus this month is on building strong classroom communities where every child feels safe, valued, and ready to grow.

We encourage you to stay connected with us—ask your child about their favorite part of the school day, read together at home, and reach out with any questions or ideas. Together, we can help make this year a wonderful experience for every student.

We have worked together to implement our Event Expectations for all school-sponsored events last school year. We wanted to provide a reminder about these expectations before events kick off for this school year. School events are an exciting time for our community to come together to celebrate and support their teams, musicians, and other student groups. Maintaining safety and supervision at our events is a priority; in partnership with families, it allows all of our fans and guests access to these events. Our students are a precious asset and education about respect and appropriate behavior is a vital component in helping to aid in their development and feeling of belonging. As a result, all elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by and supervised by an adult at all times at all WSD events. The detailed expectations can be found here.
